What could you or your organisation do with £100,000?
To mark its 200th anniversary the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) has £1 million pounds to give away to allow it to work in partnership with charities and organisations that it has never worked with before (so don't worry if your organisation doesn't traditionally offer STEM opportunities). The RAS wishes to develop new and innovative ideas that will help engage a new audience with astronomy or geophysics.
Want to know more about how you could apply? Want to know more about the scheme and meet some of the scientists that you could get to work with? Visit the RAS website for more details: https://www.ras.org.uk/200
Applications from the Republic of Ireland are welcome for this grant. A community meeting will also be held in Dublin on 15th November 2016 if you were unable to attend the meeting at W5 in Belfast on October 7th 2016. See above website for more information.
The Royal Institution (Ri) is offering UK state schools grants of up to £500 to host a maths ‘enrichment and enhancement’ activity for their teachers and students.
Funded by the Clothworkers’ Foundation, the scheme is designed to integrate maths activities (such as shows, talks and workshops) into school practice and to support teachers’ professional development.
Successful applicants will receive £500 towards any maths activity listed on the STEM Directories as long as it is held between January and July 2017.
Eligible state-funded schools, academies and FE colleges must complete the online application form by the closing date: 30 October 2016.
