*All nursery workshops last 30 minutes
This workshop follows the journey of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and his passion for fruit to illustrate the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Pupils will be engaged in story, movement and games and will then make their very own caterpillar to take home.
Using shadows and puppets pupils will explore the wonderful variety of garden bugs and talk about their own favourite creepy crawlies. They’ll also learn about the body parts of insects before each making their own mini-beast from Playmais which they can take home and keep.
Through story, rhyme and song children listen and respond to music and instruments. They develop an awareness of different sounds and explore ways of making their own using simple percussion instruments.
Children use their sense of sight to observe the world around them through bubbles, colour and light. They experiment and have fun with shadows and reflection and find out how these can be changed.
Pupils use their senses to play a variety of dynamic games, learning about themselves and the parts of the body. They investigate the heart, listen to the sound it makes and discuss how to stay healthy.
