Earlier this year, W5 hosted FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge.
The FIRST® LEGO® League is a global science and technology competition, introducing children aged 4-16 years to STEM subjects through exciting interactive learning. Competitors gain real-world problem-solving experience through a guided robotics program which aims to inspire teachers and students to build a better future together.
The FIRST® LEGO® League is split into three divisions: Discover, Explore and Challenge.
Schools from across Northern Ireland gathered in W5 for the regional FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge. At the heart of the Challenge division is friendly competition, with teams of students aged 9-16 years engaging in research, coding and engineering. Each team constructs and programmes a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game.
Thank you to all the schools who took part and congratulations to all our winners.
