From wintry workshops to seasonal shows and even a brand-new outreach show, there is lots to get involved with this Christmas at W5.
Did you know, when you book a workshop or show at W5, your group can also spend time exploring over 250 hands-on exhibits across 8 action-packed zones? Take a walk through the vortex, launch a rocket, create your own race car and so much more.
That's not all! From 25 November, W5 are decking the halls with yuletide cheer with the return of festive family favourites. Take part in an indoor snowball fight, scale the heights of our Christmas-themed Climbit and take your Christmas class photo at one of our many photo opportunities dotted around the building.

Outreach Show
Santa in Space: Planetarium Show
Dates: 27th November to 22nd December
Are you ready for an out-of-this-world experience in W5’s portable planetarium this Christmas?
W5’s Learning and Engagement Team are driving DOME for Christmas and taking our portable planetarium on tour to schools across Northern Ireland.
Take your students on an unforgettable journey through the stars to the International Space Station (ISS) and find out how astronauts celebrate Christmas in space. Discover if you can decorate the ISS, exchange gifts, share meals, and even sing carols in microgravity!
Students will receive a special video message from Santa himself and schools can request a gift from Santa (additional £2 per child).
Audience: Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Foundation and Key Stage one.
Cost: £375 + VAT
Included: up to six, 45-minute workshops per day, which include a 30-minute show inside the portable planetarium dome.The dome can accommodate up to 32 pupils in each workshop and will require a space which is 7 meters wide and 4.5 meters tall – an assembly hall is ideal.

Festive Fireworks
Crackle. Whoosh! Pop! Watch as our pyrotechnic team explain the science behind fireworks with eye-popping experiments that are sure to go off with a BANG! Which colourful chemicals light up our night sky? Come along to find out!
This 20-minute show will take place at W5's Science Bar.
Festive Freeze
Join us on an adventure into low temperatures with demonstrations so cool, they're absolutely freezing! Have you ever wondered what it's like to touch a cloud? Come along to this icy show and find out.

Seasonal Workshops
Santa's Space Race Workshop
Explore what it takes to put people into space and give your class the opportunity to find out how astronauts celebrate Christmas on the ISS. Discover how you can decorate the ISS, how astronauts exchange gifts, share meals, and even sing carols in microgravity! Students design and launch their own air-powered Santa rocket. This is a dramatic competition that would put Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk to shame.
