W5 is the STEM Ambassador Hub for Northern Ireland. We manage a database of over 1,250 professionals with STEM skills who have volunteered to promote STEM in local schools. Over 100,000 young people have been engaged with this initiative from across Northern Ireland and it is a highly valued resource.
Our ambassadors vary greatly in profile from young apprentices, under-graduates, senior managers, directors and professors. All have one thing in common - the desire to help inspire the next generation by showing them that STEM is everywhere in the world around us and how studying STEM subjects can lead to exciting, diverse and dynamic careers locally.
We work to link our STEM ambassadors with schools so they can act as positive role models to help inspire and engage young people about training and education, direct entry routes, career paths, job prospects and the high earning potential of STEM jobs.
While schools are closed, STEM Learning is offering support to teachers and families through a range of activities and resources. Resources are completely free for everyone to access.
