November at the Science Bar

Discover cool experiments, colourful chemical reactions and fascinating wildlife at W5’s Science Bar throughout November.

Join us every Saturday and Sunday for two live science shows: Deep Freeze, exploring the science of extreme cold, and Drop the Base, packed with colourful experiments exploring acids and bases.

You can also drop in to In Our Nature for a bug hunt, take a closer look at the microscopic world and craft your own creepy creature.

Science Bar shows and drop-in sessions are included with general admission to W5. Pre-booking is essential.

Deep Freeze

What's cooler than cool? This show.

Join us on an adventure into low temperatures with demonstrations so cool, they're absolutely freezing! Have you ever wondered what it's like to touch a cloud? Come along to this icy show and find out.

Drop the Base

Colourful Chemical Concoctions!

Dive into the wonderful world of acids and bases where a colourful mix of experiments might just blow you away. Come along and find out what will happen when we drop the base in this pH-enomenal show.

In Our Nature Drop-in Sessions

Join us for a bug hunt to get a sense of Northern Ireland’s amazing biodiversity at our science stage. Get a closer look at the microscopic magic that lives in nature - near, far and even in the ancient past. Plus, have a go at crafting your own creepy creature.

November shows at the Science Bar will run on Saturdays and Sundays.

Weekends including 7-8, 21-22 and 28-29 November, our shows will run:

• Deep Freeze: 1:30pm
• Drop the Base: 4pm
• In Our Nature drop-in: 11am-12pm

Saturday 14 November and Sunday 15 November our drop-in event will run from:

• In Our Nature: 11am-12pm and 1:30pm-3:30pm
