W5 Late - Get Animated!

W5 Late is a strictly adults-only, after-hours evening of interactive fun at Northern Ireland’s award-winning science and discovery centre. At W5, fun has no age limit but for one night only in February 2025, there are no kids allowed, and grown-ups are given the run of the place!

Join us for a night of fun at W5 Late on Friday 14 February from 7-11pm. With 8 zones and over 250 interactive exhibits, PLUS lots of activities on the night, it is the perfect playground for adults!

Our fully licensed bar will also be open on the night, where you can have a glass of wine or a cold beer.

Get Animated with Wallace and Gromit

We have teamed up with Aardman, the studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, to bring you the Wallace & Gromit: All Systems Go AR trail and clay modelling workshop.

Bring Wallace & Gromit to life in 3D at W5 with the interactive, augmented reality 'All Systems Go' trail experience. Download the free app, available on iOS and Android, and enter W5’s unique location code: 2001 either before your visit or when you arrive to get cracking!

Find and follow the markers to embark on a unique trail to help Wallace & Gromit ready their rocket for blast-off! You can even meet and pose alongside the inventive duo, try on Wallace’s Techno Trousers, and take a selfie as Feathers McGraw!

Then, pick up a model-making kit, at the shop on the ground floor for just £3.50, and head to AMAZE for a model-making session. Follow the Aardman model-making worksheets, full of top tips, and with help from the W5 team learn how to make a Gromit from modelling clay.

Multiverse Mayhem Science Shows

Two dimension-jumping scientists are traversing the multiverse, exploring different universes, all for the biggest science experiment ever!

They have tumbled into our universe and are here to see if the fundamental scientific theories in this world match those in other dimensions.

To do this, they must conduct as many out-of-this-world experiments as they can in thirty minutes before they are sucked back into the vortex.

Head to the lecture theatre on level 5 to marvel at the live Multiverse Mayhem science shows. Expect explosive experiments, boisterous bangs and chemical concoctions. Let the experimental mayhem begin!
