  • Heading back up to W5 again today. This is the second time this year!! I was up this time last year also with my 3 kids, my neice, nephew and a few of us kids that fall into the over 25 category!!! We can't wait for the haunted house!! Great day out for all the family!! I can't recommend it enough!!
Any chance of an EV charging station in the car park?? The arena is supported by SSE Airtricity!!

  • I took my 18 month old and nearly 3 year old to W5 for the Little Sparks workshop. The workshop was excellent; educational and age appropriate. It also included entry to the Under 8's area of the museum for a couple of hours. It was fantastic, so much to entertain young children. I will definitely be taking them back to W5.

We had our lunch then had a 90 minute workshop on the human body and made a movie then got back on coach at 14:15 and got back to school at 14:45. A fantastic day.

  • Drove up from Dublin to visit W5. Family of 2 adults and 4 kids (aged 9 to 3). We had a fab day, all the kids and the adults were entertained for 6 hours, I did not hear I'm bored once! Excellent facilities and all very clean and well attended. The picnic area is a great idea as it can be expensive to feed a large family. The lockers were very useful (and big enough for our picnic bag. Excellent place, would recommend.

  • The professionalism, courtesy and friendliness of the staff went well beyond any standard of good service. In my view, they represent the benchmark to which others should aspire. Flawless.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!! best day trip we have EVER had me and my family loved it.
There is stuff for people of all ages - my two brothers (Ewan 4 and Olly 11) were fascinated by everything. The staff were excellent, especially with my wee sister aged 3. :)

  • we visited w5 today with our 2 boys aged 11 and 9, and right from walking through the door it was enjoyable.Rory who was working at the admission desk could not have been any more polite or helpful as were all the rest of the staff. The events of the day were clearly explained to us and every effort was made to ensure that our visit would be both memorable and enjoyable. The exhibits were truly splendid, and entertaining the two boys for a few hours required no input from ourselves, as everything had already been provided.Full marks and many thanks again to a very professional team. It is refreshing in this day and age where bad manners and ignoring people when engaged in conversation with someone else are common place, to see someone with the interpersonal skills and manners to say, 'I will be with you in a moment.'

  • This is one of the best children's places in Belfast. Great for kids of all ages. I have taken the season ticket for the past 2 years which is great value. I can easily spend a few hours in here with my 2 children aged 2 & 4. Great staff, who always seem happy and very helpful. I was in last week with 2 year old who decided to climb in to the water feature in start and sit in the middle of it. I removed all his clothes and went to get him changed. I returned later to find the clothes and shoes were missing. I was advised by a nice young member of the W5 team that my clothes were in the tumble dryer and the shoes were sitting on top of it drying. How's that for service? Well worth a visit!

  • Absolutely amazing. We're from London and we took our 3 kids, 3yrs, 21 mths and 5 mths old there and spent the day (11-5pm) and we hadn't done everything.

I would come back just for this. Great experience, great staff - everything was great.

  • We attended yesterday with our two boys (4 and 3 years old) as part of our short break to the city from England. We actually had complimentary tickets, but due to a last minute change in our itinerary we turned up without our free entry letter. We explained the situation, proved to the staff that we weren't trying to blag them, and they could not have been more helpful. Some of the stuff there was aimed at kids older than our two, but do you know what? It didn't matter one little bit! Although they might have been too young to understand the scientific meaning of it, the fact that they were "hands on" absolutely enthralled them! We spent about three hours there before we had to leave as we were meeting up with somebody. The boys were not happy at all about leaving! I would recommend W5 to anyone who has youngsters. Absolutely superb. Would love to take our two back one day.

  • Just took my son Joshie here today as part of his week of day trips to celebrate his first communion... He ADORED it, and so did I...

    Highlights of the visit:

    -The musical stairs.
-Having a random tug of war versus two teenage boys.
-The start zone [he's sad he will be too big for it next year...]

  • We do a wide range of activities with our children and this is without doubt the best place we have ever visited. Well thought out, friendly staff, very clean. Really wonderful family day out. Great not having to tell our boys to be quiet, don't touch etc. Excellent value for money. Nice you can take your own packed lunch.

  • Incredible day out ! My 9 year old and 3 year old loved this place. 5 and a half hours of fun was good value. Great staff - really really good. Rounded off with an entertaining science demo. Keep up the good work people we will be back.

  • Took my 2 year old, he had a brillant day.

  • We took ma wee 3 yr old there and she loved it, it was excellent and had things for older children. Me and my husband found it interesting too. It's suitable for wheelchair and pushchair access as there are 3 big floor where all the attractions are and a lift.
There are plenty of interactive exhibitions e.g. a mini supermarket for younger kids to play in and build and race your own knex car and none were broken. At certain times of the day they do live experiments. We attended kitchen science and made honeycomb and learnt the science behind it. The scientist was very good and patient with the kids and included them all in the questions and experiment itself. We even got to take a piece oh honeycomb with the recipe home!
W5 has a calender of other free temp exhibits but none were on when we went. There is attendant around to help out if you donít understand anything or want the science explained.
For the entrance fee you can stay all day. Being in the Odyssey complex there is plenty of places to eat but there is a cafe in W5 but you can bring your own food, if you had a larger family it would keep costs down. We went during the day as my wee girl is not in school and it wasnít busy so we had the things all to ourselves not sure what it is like during school holidays but the place is huge so maybe not a problem.

  • We visit W5 last week with our two children and they loved everything. The children speak very little english but they had fun playing in all the areas. We stayed for 4 hours. The staffs were very friendly and helpful to show us where to eat. We will come back.

  • We visited W5 today especially to see the Wallace & Gromit exhibits. We had a brilliant day, with lots to see and do, and had great fun with the interactive 'toys'. All the staff were friendly and helpful- particularly Andrew as we paid our admission.

  • We took our four grandchildren yesterday to W5 for the first time and we were surprised that we hadn't been before! We really had so much fun making the plasticene animals together and took a picnic to really make a day of it. The staff were lovely and there is too much to do in one day. I suppose we'll have to come back...

  • Can I first off all compliment you on your amazing facility. I live in Drogheda in County Louth and my wife, three kids and myself made the journey to W5 last weekend. It was a very worthwhile journey, the kids enjoyed it and to be truthful I think I enjoyed it more!

  • I went with my sister, husband, and twin 1 1/2 year olds last weekend...and it was AMAZING! Even the adults couldn't help but try out a few things, and even though the girls were so young, there was still so much for them to see and do. Lucky for us we are from Belfast, and can visit anytime! I would recommend visiting the W5 to anyone with children. I was just amazed at all the different things to see and do. It's a great learning experience...no matter what your age!!
