Thanks to recent funding from the Department for the Economy, W5 LIFE is partnering with East and Mid Antrim Council to offer a Digital Navigators programme exploring numeracy and digital skills for life. This programme is free for eligible participants.

Who is this programme for?

Digital Navigators is open to residents of Mid & East Antrim Borough, over 40 years of age, who have not attained Level C or equivalent in Maths or Numeracy to enhance their numeracy skills and increase their confidence.

Programme overview

Over 8-10 sessions, learners will acquire essential digital and numeracy skills, which will be delivered through a blended approach, online and face-to-face. Participants will earn an OCN NI Level 2 Award in Digital Skills for Life and Work. Topics that will be covered include:

  • Word Processing: Advanced editing, formatting, table creation, and graphic insertion using industry-standard software.
  • Spreadsheet Software: Data management, analysis, and visualisation through charts and graphs.
  • Presentation Software: Professional presentation creation with multimedia elements.
  • Numeracy Skills: Building maths confidence and skills covering an understanding of everyday number skills with an informal and flexible approach tailored to the individual.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Helping you gain self-confidence in entering or re-entering the world of work. Communication skills, organisation skills, work ethics, body language and more.

This qualification will support those looking to upskill, return to work or pursue a career change. It enables learners to build skills across various vocational areas and enhance essential core skills, including career preparation, presentation and teamwork.

This programme starts on Tuesday 18 March.
